For the past year, I have had severe medical problems and I have not been able to physically work. We have always been low income to begin with. I am a single mom with 2 boys (9 & 11). I do not receive court ordered child support because he took off years ago and they can't find him. My income for the year 2006 was $7,665. My income for the year 2007 has only been welfare help of only $320/month which adds up to $ 3,840. With my income being that low I have struggled all year to try to maintain my bills. With my income that low,I do not have to pay rent (section 8 housing) but I do have to maintain my utilities or will be evicted if they get turned off. My family cannot help us because my parents are elderly and on limited incomes and my brother got hurt years ago so is on a disability with a limited income. I have only applied to one other place called Food lion's pride but have not heard anything from them. A few times in the past year I did receive help with my electric bill due to disconnect status. I have applied for disability 3 months and am waiting on their decision. What I am asking help for is all of my utilities and my renters insurance that I am required to have. Everything is in disconnect status again. I have tried several churches in the area and none seem to have any funding right now. My electric total is $285.14. My water total is $162.44. My sewage is $112.03. My phone is turned off completely and to get it back on $ 335.86. My renter's Insurance total is $ 147.00. These are all the amounts That I need to be able to get everything caught up and on. There is no way I can pay these with only $320/month so that's why I am requesting this help to get us in a better position in our lives. We do not even have a car but maybe one day. I am not worried about right now but if you can help us with bus tickets for a month or so for the grocery store and drs appts. It costs $1.50 per person for us to ride it so when I have to take the boys with me it would $4.50 one way. I don't know if you can help with them,too. I will leave that open for you to add if you can do it. I know this is a lot of money to request so if you can't do the full amount, I would truly appreciate any help you could possibly give to us.
